Lia Pre-Trip Blog

I'm Lia and I'm a freshman and I've been part of NPAC for four years. I joined NPAC because my mom encouraged me to do it in the fifth grade. At first I wasn't that interested, however I quickly discovered that I really loved dancing and acting. My time with NPAC has been extremely fun. The people and the overall experience have been fun.

I can't wait to see popular and incredible musicals like Moulin Rouge! MJ and the Outsiders, which offer a chance to learn while working with a member of the group. I have always dreamed of standing in New York since I was a kid. Being able to go on this trip is incredible and I can't wait for it! 

One thing I really hope to do on this trip is being able to meet new and important people from Broadway! I want to meet new people so I can learn their techniques, and get tips on how to become a better and more efficient dancer especially for Broadway. I’m also looking for general learning tips for more opportunities in the future. 

I hope that during this trip I can use the skills I learn from the workshop and the performances we watch in my future projects with NPAC and any shows I work on after high school. To me, representing NPAC in New York means presenting myself in a respectful and professional way, not only representing the program but my community as well!
