NPAC NYC TOUR 2019 PRE-TRIP BLOG

Hey! My name is Chloe Kitsu and I’m going to be a senior at Mililani High School next year. I’m so excited to be going to New York for my fourth time. Although I’ve been blessed to have gone many times before, the excitement never gets old. I love New York so much — the bright lights, amazing food, and diverse cultures.

This time around I’m excited to just re-experience everything; from seeing the Statue of Liberty to seeing Broadway shows. I think I’m most excited to see Mean Girls, Ain’t Too Proud, Be More Chill, and Dear Evan Hansen. I’ve listened to the music from all of these shows for a while now, and I can’t wait to finally see it on stage.

Besides the shows, I’m really excited to eat!! We are planning to go to Fogo De Chao, which I haven’t gone to in about four years. A Brazilian Steak House is always exciting. I’m also excited to go to Black Tap Craft Burgers and Beers, which has amazing burgers and gigantic milkshakes. Along with these restaurants, the classic hot dogs, pretzels, gyros, and Halal Guys are on my list as well. And we can’t forget about Junior’s coffee ice cream soda and cheesecake.

This trip is a lot more meaningful to me in terms of the college visits we’ll be doing because I’m going to be a senior. New York University has been my dream school since I was in the seventh grade, so being able to visit it again for the second time is really amazing. I think I’ll go into the tour with a different outlook than I did last time I went. While Julliard for me is not an option as I want to go into communications and journalism, I think it is a good learning experience about admissions and student life, so I can help others who want to go to Julliard in the future.

Overall, I think this trip will be amazing, and just as new as the first time, I went to New York. I think traveling to a place like New York that is so different from Hawaii, is a great endeavor for both myself and my fellow cast mates. Even though two of the students went to New York with NPAC last time, I look forward to seeing the faces of the other two students who will be going to New York with NPAC for the first time — especially Alexis as this is her first time going to New York — can’t wait to see her reaction of Time Square.

I want to thank PVT Land for their generous donation that helped cover the cost for a show and meals — we appreciate their support over all these years.

I can’t wait to travel with great people and have an amazing time!
